Why the name Self-Guided Trails?

I love being on trails. And there’s something thrilling about hiking the trails at your own pace with the people you want to be with. Stumble upon a tantalizing swim hole? Or run into some unexpected ruins with fascinating history? You have the flexibility to experience how you want to. Whether you’re a weekend warrior hitting up local trails or a seasoned backpacker meticulously planning your next expedition, I hope you can get inspired, learn something new, and try my trips!

Frequently Asked Questions

Hike at your own pace without a guide so you can explore independently. You'll be provided easy-to-follow trail navigation.

  • Airport transfer from the nearest major airport
  • Accommodation
  • Luggage transportation
  • Itinerary and trail routing (using GPS)
  • Flights
  • Meals (unless specified)
  • Tour guide (trip is self-guided)
  • Hiking daypack or other equipment

Not only are my itineraries self-guided so you can lead your own adventures, they are also uniquely curated so that you can thru-hike (point-to-point) while staying in comforts of hotels. Your luggage will move to your next hotel while you're on the trail so you can just hike with your day pack and boots! All your transportation is coordinated as well so you don't need to rent a car.

Thru-hiking means starting at one point of a trail and walking or hiking continuously to the other end. The alternatives are hiking out-and-back or a loop, which both you start and end at the same place. Typically thru-hiking requires carrying your carrying your camping tent/equipment (backpacking), having transportation at both starting and end points, or hiking from and into lodgings you can spend the night.

It's a different experience having a continuous journey, you spend more time to see more of the trails than hiking out-and-back.
