Thru-bike and hike in the scenic foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains while experiencing small town charms and Appalachian hospitality. Start in Abingdon (1 night) and end in Damascus (2 nights). You'll have time to learn the towns' rich history, experience a trail-centric community, and try local brews, spirits, and food.

  • Day 1: Arrive in Abingdon
  • Day 2: Bike an easy ~16 miles on the canopied Virginia Creeper trail atop treetops and across rushing rivers
  • Day 3: Hike ~7 miles mostly on the Appalachian Trail, cross the stateline from TN to VA into Damascus. Can add more mileage if desired.
  • Day 4: Depart
